It Takes me back was written by Lonnie in 2006.

It is the story of him living on the family sheep property near the village of Rowena between Walgett and Moree, North West NSW Australia.

It is dry country of the North West slopes and plains not raining very often. He used to watch the storms on the horizon and hope the creeks ran, but most times they didn’t.

The creeks don’t run, run, run.

He tells of how he worked hard on the property whilst every night learning the guitar and the songs just before Rock’n’Roll.

He went to the city of Sydney and became a big star with his little Rockabilly band getting Gold Hits and TV Shows.

He mentions this aren’t the same anymore in today’s society
