Ain’t it so was written by Johnny O’Keefe and Lonnie in 1959.  He had chosen ‘Shame on you Miss Johnson’ to be his first single A side but had not chosen a song for the B side.  At the last minute, they decided to write a throw away B side song however the leading DJ’s of the time, Stan Rofe at 3KZ in Melbourne and Tony Withers on 2SM in Sydney, thought this song was far better than the A side and chose it to play. It was the first Australian written song to go Top 10 across Australia and #1 in some areas.
